They indicated they would not concur
with a determination of closure without a current investigation of site conditions.
A site investigation was conducted at this site in August 1999 with the advancement of
five soil borings. Two soil samples collected from boring B-1, which was located within
the former underground storage tank (UST) pit, reported concentrations of total petroleum
hydrocarbon as diesel (TPHd). Specifically, the CVRWQCB requested additional
confirmation of these detections, and collection and analysis of a groundwater sample.
Please proceed with submittal of a work plan to continue the investigation of this site and
proceed towards closure. SJC/EHD recommends a minimum of two soil borings; one l
located near B-1 to collect current data on the soil in the former UST pit, and one located
outside of and down gradient from the former UST pit area to collect a grab groundwater
sample. The work plan is due no later than November 19, 2007.
If you have any questions or comments please call Lori Duncan at (209)468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Margaret Lagorio, RE S
Site Mitigation Unit IV Program-Coordinator Unit IV
cc: James Barton, CVRWQCB
