I I 4 On September 20, 2007 PHSEHD directed ST&E to conduct additional site assessment activity to include collection of soil and groundwater samples at the site to evaluate potential possible closure of the site. This workplan has been prepared to address this directive letter. 2.3 Site Description The Site is located within the southern portion of the southern Sacramento Valley, California ti (Figures 1 and 2). The site is comprised of the roundhouse facility for the ST&E Railroad (Figures 3,4 and 5) at 1282 Shaw Road, Stockton, California. I The area surrounding the site is generally industrial and/or agricultural. The Site is located I� within Section 31, Township 2 North and Range 6 East, Mount Dabble Baseline and Median I, (Figure 3). The entire ST&E,site encompasses approximately 20 acres in extent.
