Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> Re: Scope of work letter, Canteen Facility, 1500 Shaw Road, Stockton, CA; Site Code 1727, <br /> AHS Project No. 14594009-01. <br /> Dear Mr. Infurna: <br /> This letter is to inform you of the future work Applied Earth Sciences, Inc. (AES) is <br /> proposing for the referenced site. AES is proposing to install a monitor well to a total depth of <br /> aWoxinWely 120 to 125 feet. The proposed location is shown on figure 1. 71te purpose of the <br /> well is to evaluate the sail and groundwater quality at depths of historically low groundwater <br /> levels(appevximaw4y 120 feet in 1978). Grouadwater levels at the site since 1993 have ranged <br /> from approximately 45 to 75 feet below surface grade. <br /> Continuous cam will he collectW during drilling and monitored for the presence of <br /> volatile organics using a PID meter. Select soil samples collected between 70 and 120 feet will <br /> be submitted to an appropriate California laboratory for analysis. The soil sampling parameters <br /> will includc.beat e, "Toluene, Ethyl-bmzeane, Total Xylenes, (BTM, MTBE, TPHg and 8250 <br /> Oxygenates. <br /> A groundwater sample will be collected from the well and submitted to an appropriate <br /> California lab far analysis. The water sampling parameters will include Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl- <br /> Benzene, Total Xylenes, (BTEX), MTBE, TPHg and 8260 Oxygenates. <br /> Ai�b recommends mmoval of the Oxygen Release Compound (ORC) socks from monitor <br /> wells MW-2 and MW 3A. After removal, AFS proposes quarterly monitoring and sampling for <br /> all of the existing monitor wells at the site.
