sample periods. The groundwater monitoring summary report pre-
pared by Dei-Tech is included as M IDIT C and copies of the
laboratory analysis sheet & QC are attached as EXHIBIT O_
ANALYSTS OF GROUNDWATER SAMPLING TQ PATE:
Based upon an analysis of all the information obtained to date aL
this site, the following conclusions seem appropriate:
1. Although the data collected to date shows Lhe hydraulic
gradient to be in a southerly direction, the changes in levels of
contamination measured in the wells suggests that either the
gradient direction is not stable, or another offsite source of
contamination exists_ The lowering of the water table in Lhe S
month period between the two measurements does not appear to be
the primary cause of the increased levels. Additional measure-
ments and sampling should help to clarify this issue.
2. The horizontal limits of contamination Lave noL been deLer-
min.ed, and additional work will be required to delineate the
..zero" line.
3. The results of the next quarterly sampling, currently due,
should provide much needed information to assist in planning
future work. After that data has been analyzed, we will be
better able to determine what course of action to propose. We
do not believe that the data to date is definitive enough to
proceed with additional work.
DISPOSAL OF CONTAINERIZED DRILL CDTTiNUS 84 PURGE WATER=
We have attached Hazardous Waste Manifests & other relevanL
correspondence covering the disposal of 25 drums of drill solids
and water from soil boring & monitor well placement and sampling
operations which had been stored on the property since completion
of the work. Those documents are included as EXHIBIT E.
Groundwater removed from the wells during future testing and
sampling operations will be contained in suitably marked sealed
drums & stored on site pending future disposal. Your office will
be notified when such disposal occurs.
If you have any questions concerning this report, do noL hesiLaLe
to contact our office at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
Wm. J. Hunter & Associates
cc: Canteen Corp.
CVRWQCB
2
