Copies of the work- <br /> sheets and chain of custody are included as APP ' DII K; the <br /> results of that work will be discussed later <br /> May, 27, 199 - Osterberg & Stewart personel, installed heavy duty <br /> Christy boxes on all wells, cut of casings as needed, grouted the <br /> boxes in place, and filled any annular space in the casings with <br /> cement Locking caps were installed on each casing top, and the <br /> boxes were sealed with traffic covers. <br /> Junes—1, 1993 - The wells were developed by Osterberg & Stewart <br /> Personel according to standard procedures, refer to EXHIBITS X <br /> thru XIII for more details. <br /> June 3. . : 993 - Del-Tech Geotechnical Services purged and sampled <br /> each well as detailed in APPENDIX M Water depths were located at <br /> approximately 68' bgl , which corresponds closely with data <br /> obtained during the placement of the wells. After each well <br /> stabilized, water samples were taken by use of a clean, disposa- <br /> ble teflon bailer and placed in clean glass vials. Upon comple- <br /> tion of the purging, measurement and sampling operations, each <br /> casing was securely sealed with an expandable locking--type plug, <br /> and traffic covers were reinstalled and tightened. Water samples <br /> were transported under chain of custody to Sherwood Laboratory <br /> with instructions to test for BTEX & TPH-G. Refer to _APPENDIX L <br /> for details of that work. <br /> The top of each casing was notched and marked for orientation; a <br /> licensed surveying firm determined the elevation of each wellhead <br /> to within 1/10th of a foot; APPENDIX N is a copy of the field <br /> notes from that work. <br /> ISCUSSION OF RESULTS OF _LABORATORY SLY .E <br /> As discussed earlier, the five soil borings which had been <br /> drilled around the site of the removed UST encountered contamina- <br /> tion at depths below recent high groundwater levels. As a result <br /> of that work, four additional soil borings/monitoring wells were <br /> placed farther away from the former tank site, but still within <br /> the confines of the property Details of that work have been <br /> covered in some detail in this report. A fence diagram through <br /> the four monitoring wells was constructed to assist in analyzing <br /> the results; it is included as FLATE X1 . <br /> During the placement of the monitoring wells, some petroleum <br /> odors were detected in both the soil and water, and positive PID <br /> readings were noted in some cores. The results of the laboratory <br /> analyzes of those soil samples, summarized on TABLE VI , revealed <br /> 14 <br />
