I tD <br /> July 1, 2004 %CES <br /> Mr Michael J Infurna, Jr, Senior REHS <br /> San Joaquin County PHS <br />' Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> I <br /> RE: 2004 Second Quarterly Monitoring Report <br />' Former Canteen Facility <br /> 1500 Shaw Road <br /> Stockton, California <br />' Site Code 1727 <br /> AES Project No.: 145-94009-04 <br /> Dear Mr Infuma <br />' Applied Earth Sciences, Inc (AES), was retained by Compass Group USA, Inc (Compass), to <br /> conduct quarterly groundwater gauging and sampling on the property located at 1500 Shaw <br /> Road in Stockton, California (Site) (Figure 1) This quarterly sampling event was conducted in <br />' order to provide a Quarterly Monitoring Report of the impacted groundwater at the Site, in <br /> accordance with State of California regulations <br /> PROJECT OBJECTIVES <br /> The objectives for the 2004 Second Quarterly Monitoring Report were to assess the <br /> concentrations of hydrocarbons in Site groundwater due to the former presence of underground <br /> storage tanks (USTs), assess the stability of the groundwater plume, and assess the impacts to the <br /> aquifer, if any, of the operating remediation system The following were conducted during this <br />' quarterly assessment <br /> • Gauged each Site monitor well (May 13, 2004) to evaluate the presence or absence of free <br />' product and to measure groundwater elevations Groundwater monitoring wells MW-3, <br /> MW-2, MW-3, MW-3A, MW-3D, MW-4 through MW-13, MW-13A and MW-13B were <br /> gauged <br />' • Purged Site monitor wells MW-3, MW-3A, MW-3D, MW-11, MW-13, MW-13A, and <br /> MW-13B by removing a minimum of three well volumes using a Waterra® inertia pump or <br />' disposable bailer <br />' 9009 Mountain Ridge Dr, Suite 110 + Austin, Texas 78759 • Tel (512) 990-7467 • Fax (512) 990-7399 <br /> www appiiedeorth corn <br />
