I � NED F <br /> I 00 40�7s'# <br /> Former Canteen Facility July 1, 2004 <br /> Ouarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report Pa e 3 <br /> GROUNDWATER CONDITIONS <br /> The following summarizes the local groundwater gradient and the groundwater analytical <br /> results <br /> iGroundwater Gradient <br /> Interpretation of the monitor well gauging data indicates that there is a southwesterly <br />' hydraulic gradient across the Site of approximately 0 002 feet/foot Figure 2 illustrates <br /> the groundwater contours and gradient for this gauging event The gradient appears to be <br /> consistent with past gauging events The change in water levels is a result of cyclical <br />' fluctuations in the weather and the proximity of the site to the Stockton Diverting Canal, <br /> located approximately 1000 feet to the northeast The historical groundwater elevations <br />' are summarized on Table I <br /> Groundwater Analytical Results <br />' • Groundwater analytical results are compared to the California Department of Health <br /> Services Drinking Water Standard Maximum Contaminant Levels (CAMCL) Analysis <br /> of the groundwater samples obtained from the six Site monitor wells indicated the <br />' following <br />' • Benzene was detected in the groundwater samples from monitor wells MW-3, <br /> MW-31), MW-11, MW-13, and MW-13A at concentrations of 2 7, 1 8, 0 46, <br /> 14,000, and 5 7 µg/1, respectively The CAMCL for benzene is 10 µg11, <br />' exceeded in MW-3, MW-3 D, MW-13, and MW-13A <br /> • Toluene was detected in monitor wells MW-13 and MW-13A at concentrations of <br />' 22,000 and 2 2 pg/l, respectively The CAMCL for toluene is 150 µg11, exceeded <br /> only in MW-13 <br />' • Ethylbenzene was detected in monitor wells MW-3, MW-3D, MW-13, and MW- <br /> 13A at concentrations of 0 65, 3 6, 1,400, and 0 75 ug/l, respectively The <br /> CAMCL for ethylbenzene is 700 µg/l, exceeded only in MW-13 <br />' • Total xylenes were detected in monitor wells MW-13 and MW-13A at <br /> concentrations of 14,500 and 3 4 µg11, respectively The CAMCL for total <br /> xylenes is 1,750 µg/L, exceeded only in MW-13 <br /> • • TPH(g) was detected in monitor wells MW-3, MW-3A, MW-3D, MW-11, MW- <br /> 13, MW-13A, and MW-13B at concentrations ranging from 64 to 190,000 [tg/l <br /> 1 <br />
