S RVI'O--3 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> Re First Quarterly 1998 Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling Report, (former <br /> Canteen facility) 1500 Shaw Road, Stockton, CA, Site Code 1727, AES Project <br /> No 145-94009-01 <br /> Dear Mr Infurna <br /> This report summarizes the monitoring and sampling event conducted on January <br /> 28 and 30, 1998 Field activities at the above referenced site included monitoring of fluid <br /> Ievels and collection of groundwater samples from eight monitor wells onsite and five off <br /> site monitor wells on the former U S Chemical property (Figure 1) <br /> The depth to groundwater ranged from 50 73 feet to 58 28 feet below grade Free <br /> product was not measured in any of the monitor wells Based on the groundwater <br /> elevations from the monitor wells, the apparent groundwater gradient was 0 37 feet per <br /> 100 feet and the general direction of groundwater flow was to the south Fluid level <br /> measurements are summarized in Table 1 and the Potentiometric Surface Elevation <br /> Contour Map is included as Figure 1 The gauging datum for monitor well MW-10 was <br /> not incorporated into the gradient map for January 30, 1998 Historically the groundwater <br /> elevations in MW-10 are approximately the same as that in MW-3A, however for January <br /> 30, 1998 the data indicates that the elevation for MW-10 was approximately five feet lower <br /> than that for MW-3A It appears that the gauging data for MW-10 was not correct <br /> Copies of the field data sheets and water measurement data are included in Appendix A <br /> The only BTEX constituent detected above California MCLS was benzene in well <br /> M*N'-2 ( 8 µg/L) and MW-10 ( 11µg/L) MTBE was detected in wells MW-3 and <br /> MW 3A at concentrations of 18µgIL and 211tg/L, respectively <br /> 2833 Trinity Square, Suite 149 • Carrollton, Texas 75006 • Tel (972) 416-7171 • Fax (972)416-7175 <br />
