1
'Alp
Ul
Evac),
U
1.0 PURPOSE OF THE REPORT
Three monitor wells (MW-3A, MW-10, and MW-11) were installed and sampled at the
1 Canteen Corporation (Canteen) facility located at 1500 Shaw Road in Stockton, California, and
at the adjacent U S. Chemical Corporation (US Chemical) facility located at 1448 Shaw Road
1 (Figure 1) The monitor wells were installed to delineate the extent of dissolved-phase
hydrocarbons and to determine if the screened intervals in the existing monitor wells were
' allowing representative groundwater samples to be obtained Specifically, monitor well MW-3A
was drilled and installed adjacent to monitor well MW-3 (Figure 1) due to measured
1 groundwater elevations, which were above the screened interval of monitor well MW-3
1 In addition to groundwater sampling the recently installed monitor wells (MW-3A,
MW-10, and MW-11), the existing monitor wells at the Canteen facility (MW-1 through MW-7),
were also sampled. All soil and groundwater sampling activities were approved in advance by
Mr Michael Infurna of the San Joaquin County PHS/Environmental Health Division (EHD),
1 who was on site during all/sampling
' This report describes the installation of the three recently monitor wells (MW-3A,
' MW-10, and MW-11) and soil and groundwater sampling Included in the report are cumulative
tables of potenhometric surface elevations and groundwater analytical results Detailed
1 descriptions of the installation of the previous monitor wells and the site chronology are available
in a report dated October 1994, that is titled "PROBLEM ASSESSMENT REPORT AND
' RESULTS OF GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION" Additionally, several rounds of
groundwater gauging and sampling have been reported to the San Joaquin County PHS/EHD
1
