Copies of the field
logs, water measurement data, chain of custody and laboratory
reports are included The results of all of the laboratory
results taken since monitoring began are summarized on TABLE I
for your convenience.
This is the seventh sampling and testing since completion of the
four monitoring wells in May, 1993 , and the third sampling of the
three new wells placed in August, 1994 Details of the newly
completed wells were covered in the report titled "INTERIIM
ASSESSMENT REPORT AND RESULTS OF GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION" dated
October 2, 1994
The following observations concerning the monitoring activities
to date are offered for your information.
1 The water table table has risen an average of 1.5 . 75 ' since
the December measurements, to an average depth of 53 16 ' bgl ;
(-26 52 ' msl datum ) Although the water table in the Stockton
area has risen several feet due to the extremely heavy rains this
season, a 151 + rise was unexpected It is most likely due to the
fact that the Stockton diverting canal is a short distance away,
and there is considerable open land in the area allowing good
recharge
2 . The hydraulic gradient as measured in the seven wells during
the March sampling was to the south at about 0 . 6251 /100 ' , or
approximately 33 ' /mile The direction has not changed signifi-
cantly since the first readings in June, 1993 An April 18, 1995
report prepared by WJH discussed the results of water level
measurement data taken on 3/29/1995 from the seven (7) Canteen
1
