Sacramento Street Page 3
Our Project Number: E07087
May 30, 2007
3.1.2 Boring Abandonment
All borings will be sealed and abandoned in accordance with EHD requirements. A
representative of the EHD may be present to approve all grouting activities.
3.2 Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Procedures
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures will be used to minimize the potential for
contamination of soil samples. The QA/QC procedures may include the use of single-use
sampling equipment, decontamination of drilling and sampling equipment by washing with a
solution of potable water and Liqui-Nox solution or equivalent between borings, changing latex
protective gloves after each sample, and recording sample information on chain-of-custody
forms.
3.3 Sample Laboratory Tests
Soil samples will be transported to a California state certified analytical laboratory where the
following Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) tests will be performed: total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) by 8015M/8021B, total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel
(TPH-d) by 8015M, and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and toluene (BTEX), and VOCs by
8026B. Air samples will be collected in Summa canisters, transported to a certified lab, and
analyzed for VOCs by TO-14A and TO-15.
4.0 PROPOSED TIME SCHEDULE FOR WORK
Assuming approval of this workplan, we propose to perform the work on JUNE 5, 2007.
Standard laboratory turn-around is ten business days. We will forward the results of the work
to the EHD within one week of receipt of the laboratory results.
5.0 REPORT PREPARATION
A letter report will be prepared to present the analytical test results for the soil and soil vapor
samples. The letter report will include laboratory test result sheets and chain-of-custody
documentation.
6.0 LIMITATIONS
The proposed scope of work for the Phase II has been tailored to address the specific issues of
soil and soil vapor impacts from the possible underground storage tank sites and adjacent
property soil impacts. Groundwater in the immediate area is known to be impacted, and
investigation into the groundwater contamination is beyond the scope of this investigation. If
additional investigation is requested, such investigation will be performed as a separate scope
of work.
".044
902 Industrial Way•Lodi,CA 95240•209.367.3701 •Fax 209.369.4228 02007 Neil O.Anderson&Associates.Inc
