Operator placed cap on bunghole. <br /> -One gray container with waste antifreeze observed with no lid found on floor next to 55-gallon drum with waste <br /> antifreeze. Operator transferred waste antifreeze to one 55-gallon drum with waste antifreeze.Wiped container <br /> clean with shop towels and placed shop towels in soiled rags container. <br /> -One white 5-gallon bucket with used oil observed with no lid. Operator transferred used oil to used oil tank. Wiped <br /> bucket clean with shop towels and placed shop towels in soiled rags container. <br /> -One blue container with used oil filters observed with no lid. Operator transferred used oil filters to 55-gallon drums <br /> with used oil filters. Wiped container clean with shop towels and placed shop towels in soiled rags container. <br /> -Three 55-gallon drums with used metal oil filters observed with non-secure lids. Operator secured lids. <br /> Note: used oil filters are not recycled at this facility. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and <br /> storage, except when it is necessary to add or remove waste. <br /> CORRECTED ON SITE. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 406 CCR 66261.7 Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one year of being emptied. <br /> OBSERVATION: The following were observed outside near entrance of shop: <br /> -Approximately 5 empty 55 gallon containers with no empty date on them. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: Empty containers which previously held a hazardous material, including hazardous <br /> waste must be managed per Title 22 California Code of Regulations(CCR)section 66261.7. Refer to this section <br /> and California Department of Toxic Substances Control guidance for more information. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately label all empty containers with the date they were emptied and manage <br /> within one year of that date. Manage the container per Title 22 CCR section 66261.7.
