Mr. Timothy VanDomelen - 4 - 9 May 2008
J.R. Simplot, Lathrop, San _iquin County
y
13. MRP Section C.9 requires annual sampling for VOCs in the vadose zone monitoring
network. Pages 118-121 of Part Three of the Annual Report infer that the lysimeters
were empty all year, yet the tables on pages 83-99 suggest that sample collection was
possible in April, July, or October for all lysimeters. Please provide sampling and
analytical data for VOCs as required by the MRP in your next quarterly report, due
1 August 2008.
14. In all future quarterly and annual report submittals, please provide the contract laboratory
and any in-house analytical data reports as an appendix in the form of a CD inserted in
the report.
15. Because of the number of lysimeters, monitoring wells, and structures sampled on this
project and in the interests of long-term continuity on the project. we recommend that the
Annual Reports furnish comprehensive tables listing all sampling location details, and
maps showing monitoring well, sump, and pond lysimeter locations. The tables should
include the sampling location identifier, date installed, construction information (e.g.,
casing diameter, casing material, slot size, top and bottom of screen, top and bottom of
filter pack, depth to water, groundwater elevation, surveyed elevation, as applicable), and
aquifer zone (if appropriate).
We appreciate J.R. Simplot's timely submittals and its efforts to comply with the MRP as
discussed above. Your next quarterly report is due 1 August 2008. If you have any questions
regarding this correspondence, please contact me at (916) 464-1588.
Kathryn L.
