Occidental Chemical Corp )tion
Summary 2006 Annual Review Meeting Minutes
and Semi-Annual Report
Lathrop, CA - 6 - 23 October 2006
flow-through cell module. Since the MRP requires that the volume of purge water be
included as part of the data collection per well, please ensure that accurate
measurements of well purge volumes are included in all future Semi-Annual Reports.
8. In addition to comment No. 4 above, the Regional Water Board staff noticed that the
units on the field parameter table in Appendix C are missing. Please ensure that either
this information is added to future tables or that a cover page that describes all of the
units is attached in future reports.
9. Figures 3.1 and 3.2 are missing the mass scale on the graphs. Please ensure that
these are included on future graphs.
10.Figures 4.4 and 4.5 are missing what is presumed to be the unit of "feet" for the
elevation scale. Please correct this for future reports.
11.Attachment 1 (table) presented in Appendix D presents sample pump and well
information. Most of the headers in the data columns of this table lack the appropriate
unit descriptions. One assumes that the units are "feet" or "feet below top of well
casing". To avoid confusion, in future reports please provide a cover page to these
tables with unit information or place the units in the appropriate column headers.
In summary, the Regional Water Board staff requires.-
1.
equires:1. The preparation of a workplan to assess the potential fumigant and sulfolane source
area around PW18. This workplan is due to the Regional Water Board staff by
15 December 2006.
2. The preparation of a STWP that proposes the use of a supplemental treatment
technology (i.e. additional GAC vessels) for the existing groundwater treatment system.
This workplan is due to the Regional Water Board staff by 15 December 2006. This
workplan can be combined with the assessment workplan as mentioned in item No. 1
above.
3. Unless otherwise stated, please address the remainder of the above comments in the
Groundwater Remedial Program 2006 Annual Report, which is due to this office by
1 February 2006.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this correspondence please feel free to
contact Steven Meeks by telephone at (916) 464-4678 or by email at
smeeks waterboards.ca.gov.
even W.
