Based on our discussions in a meeting held at
the Board on 18 December 2000 and the results of the reconditioning of the well, we concur with
the continued use of LP-2 as a monitoring well. Also discussed in the meeting was the need to
install additional monitoring wells in the shallow portion of the aquifer and a background
monitoring well upgradient.
J.R. Simplot should submit a work plan for the installation of additional shallow and background
monitoring wells by 1 March 2001. Once the work plan has been approved, the Regional Board
will revise Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs) Order No. 97-229, Monitoring and
Reporting Program (MRP).
