The auger bit will be decontaminated between each borehole
location while the tube driver will be decontaminated between each sample
collection location and depth. The equipment will be decontaminated
utilizing a laboratory grade reagent soap/water mixture followed by potable
water rinse and a deionized water final rinse. All rinse water generated will
be containerized onsite and treated by the OCC Groundwater Treatment
System. It is anticipated that this investigation will establish the limits of the
fumigant presence. However, if it does not, additional site investigation
activities will be conducted.
All samples collected will be sealed immediately upon collection,
labeled according to collection location and depth and stored on ice
pending shipment to the analytical laboratory for analysis. Each shipment
to the laboratory shall be accompanied by appropriate chain of custody
documentation. Each sample submitted for analysis shall be analyzed for
DBCP, EDB and organochlorine pesticides. All field activities will be
logged in the onsite field log book maintained by the sampling personnel.
3.0 REPORTING
Upon completion of the field sampling program and receipt of the
sample analytical results, a site investigation report will be prepared. This
report will include a detailed description of the field borehole
installation/sample collection procedures as well as a discussion of the
sample analytical results. The report will also contain a conclusions and
recommendations section which will describe follow up investigative or
remedial actions as required.
M
