Aravanis, William
From: Kathryn Dominic[KDominic@waterboards.ca.gov]
Sent: Thursday, September 16, 2010 1:35 PM v C
To: Aravanis, William; Tim VanDomelen SEP 1 7 2010
Subject: Extraction Well Pumping Test Work Plan
ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
Gentlemen: PERMIT/SERVICES
By this email I am providing concurrence with the subject work plan, submitted 10 September 2010.
The elements of the Work Plan were discussed in our meeting on 25 August 2010. 1 have reviewed the Work Plan
relative to the items we discussed, and concur with the approach and schedule for the work.
J.R. Simplot proposes to use the newly relined North Pond to temporarily store groundwater extracted during
development of the new wells and during aquifer testing. My review of Waste Discharge Requirements (Order) No.97-229
indicates that the use of the pond for this purpose is consistent with the discharge specifications in the Order.
Concentrations of constituents listed in the table shown in Section 2.9.3 of the Work Plan in the groundwater from the
extraction well and the new monitoring well must not exceed the historical average concentrations for process water
placed in the North Pond.
Formal approval of the proposed work will follow by regular correspondence. If you have any questions, please contact
me.
Regards,
Kathryn L.
