GEOMATRIX
Two quarterly samples from the DMP wells will be required to verify that residual effects of
well installation have dissipated and that representative groundwater samples are being col-
lected. The third quarterly sample collected will be analyzed for the all constituents of concern
(COC), assuming the results of the first two samples are indicative of aquifer conditions.
Initial groundwater samples will be submitted for analysis in accordance with the quarterly
monitoring requirements of Monitoring and Reporting Program No. 97-229. Additional
inorganic analyses will be performed to evaluate groundwater quality and to aid hydrogeologic
characterization. The constituents to be analyzed are summarized below:
• Inorganic constituents including chloride, sulfate, nitrate as nitrogen,TDS,
ammonia, phosphate, potassium, bicarbonate, carbonate, sodium, calcium, and
magnesium.
Quality assurance/quality control samples will also be collected and submitted to the laboratory
for analysis. One duplicate sample will be collected each quarter. When VOC analysis is
required, one or more equipment blanks, one field blank per day, and one trip blank per sample
shipment will be collected. All groundwater samples will be placed in laboratory-prepared
sample containers and labeled with a unique sample control number, date of collection, and
project number. A sample control log will be prepared to identify the sample control numbers
with the appropriate well number, depth, and other pertinent criteria.
5.4 REPORTING
Geomatrix will prepare a DMP report documenting the installation and initial sampling of the
four DMP wells. The report will include tabular and graphical data summaries of monitoring
well construction information, boring logs, a map of groundwater occurrence, and laboratory
analytical results for initial samples.
6.0 SCHEDULE
We anticipate that permitting and other pre-field work will be complete and field activities will
start about 4 weeks after approval of this work plan by the RWQCB (pending availability of the
drilling contractor). The field activities (well installation, development, pump installation, and
sampling) are expected to require about 1 week.
Preparation of the DMP report will begin as soon as the field work has been completed. We
estimate that the DMP report in draft form will require approximately 6 weeks to complete
after receiving the laboratory analytical data. A final version for submittal to the RWQCB will
be completed about 2 weeks after receiving comments on the draft.
I:IPROJECA6741.000\6741-06.doc 5
