SITE HEALTH & SAFETY PLAN <br /> 8.2 DECONTAMINATION AREAS <br /> Equipment and personnel decontamination areas will be set up adjacent to the work exclusion <br /> zones. All equipment and tools used during work activities shall be decontaminated in the <br /> designated decontamination area. Decontamination procedures are described in Section 9.0 of <br /> this Plan. <br /> 8.3 COMMUNICATIONS <br /> A field representative should contact the project manager or office at least once a day while in <br /> the field. The closest telephone is located in the work vehicle <br /> 9.0 DECONTAABNATION <br /> 9.1 PERSONNEL DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES <br /> Remove disposable gloves and clothing and place in plastic bags. Wash hands and face before <br /> eating, drinking, or smoking, and at the end of the work day. <br /> 9.2 DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES FOR EQUIPMENT/SAMPLING GEAR <br /> Wash with soapy water, brush as necessary to remove adhered soil, and final rinse with tap water <br /> or deionized water. <br /> 9.3 STORAGE OF INVESTIGATION-DERIVED MATERIALS <br /> Investigation-derived materials (PPE/expendables, decon waste, soil cuttings, purged ground- <br /> water, etc.) will be handled and stored in drums pending future disposal by Simplot. <br /> 10.0 EMERGENCY RESPONSE <br /> In the event of an accident or emergency condition, the procedures specified below shall be <br /> followed. <br /> 10.1 MEDICAL EMERGENCIES <br /> In the event of a medical emergency, the following procedures should be used: <br /> 1. Remove injured or exposed person(s) from immediate danger if possible. <br /> 2. Evacuate other on-site personnel to a safe place in an upwind direction until it is safe <br /> for work to resume. <br /> 3. If serious injury or life-threatening condition exists, call <br /> 911 -Paramedics,fire department,police <br /> Hospital emergency room <br /> Clearly describe location, injury and conditions to dispatcher/hospital.
