OCC Lathrop Site <br /> Soil and Groundwater Samplin, ork Plan April 28, 2000 <br /> 3.5 UTILITY LOCATION <br /> A private utility locator will be contracted to clear the proposed location of the soil boring with <br /> respect to underground utilities. In addition, TSG will consult with Simplot personnel to assess <br /> potential obstructions or buried services associated with ongoing facility operations. TSG will <br /> require the drilling contractor to clear the borehole location with a hand auger and/or probe to <br /> approximately 5 feet bgs prior to starting mechanical drilling operations if the utility locator <br /> contractor or onsite personnel cannot provide clearance. <br /> 3.6 SITE HEALTH AND SAFETY <br /> All work described in the Work Plan will be conducted in compliance with the approved Health and <br /> Safety Plan for the Site. <br /> 3.7 INVESTIGATION DERIVED WASTE <br /> All investigation-derived waste (IDW) will be managed in accordance with applicable regulations. <br /> For the purposes of this Work Plan the term IDW refers to residual materials generated during <br /> installation of the soil boring and Waterloo Systems or during collection of soil and groundwater <br /> samples. Potential sources of IDW include: <br /> • Drilling Wastes - Soil cuttings and associated drilling wastes will be staged onsite pending <br /> final disposition. IDW will be sampled (composite) and analyzed for characterization. <br /> • Purge Water and Decontamination Water— In accordance with the existing agreement <br /> between OCC and the Regional Board, purge water and equipment decontamination will <br /> be discharged directly to the ground in the area adjacent to the proposed borehole. <br /> • Personal Protective Equipment — All PPE including gloves, respirator cartridges, or Tyvek <br /> will be drummed and staged onsite pending disposal. <br /> 4.0 REPORTING <br /> At the completion of field activities and receipt of laboratory analysis, a comprehensive Remedial <br /> Investigation Report will be prepared and submitted. At the minimum, the report will contain the <br /> following: <br /> • Description of all work performed; <br /> • Maps showing the site and the location of the and groundwater sampling activities; <br /> • Drilling log; <br /> • Tables summarizing laboratory results from soil and groundwater samples; <br /> • Laboratory analytical reports and chain-of-custody documents; <br /> • Conclusions and Recommendations for additional work, as appropriate. <br /> 4 <br /> The Source Group,Inc. <br />
