7
A Professional Corporation
900 "H" ST., SUITE G • P.O. BOX 816 • MODESTO, CA 95353 • (209) 526-4214
m _
February 5, 1988
County of Stanislaus
Department of Public Works
Attn: Tom Gau '
P.O. Box 1810 o a
Stockton, CA 95201
A
Re: Hempstead Court Subdivision
Dear Tom:
Enclosed please find "Log of Borings", dated February 4, 1988, by
Quality Control Inspection for the Hempstead Court Subdivision. After '•
examination of these borings, information obtained from the local
irrigation district, Department of Water Resources, Co. Health Department
and local well drilling firms, it is Q.C.I. 's conclusion that the ground
water encountered at 8'-10' below the existing ground surface at Hempstead
Court is a "Perched Water Table." Based on this background, we propose
the following solution to the drainage requirements for the proposed
subdivision, which may or may not be a deviation from your standard
requirements:
1) Construct a "Percolation Basin" to collect and dispose
of on-site runoff of required size (in accordance with
your county standards and subsequent updates) with a
bottom elevation no less than 2' above the existing
"Perched Water Table"
2) Drill a "Dry Well" to a depth of approximately 40'
(from existing ground surface) which will encounter at
least two sand-gravel strata. This will help drain the
proposed basin as well as stabilize the water surface of
the existing "Perched" water table.
I understand this will be acceptable to the County's health dept.
field personnel if acceptible to the County engineering department.
Thank you for your consideration of this matter.
Sincerely,
MID-VALLEY ENGINEERING, INC.
Al Toschi
AT:SM
cc: Dennis Wilson
Jeff Davidson
EDISON S.
