Pete Martin
Re : Hempstead Court Groundwater Dewatering
Dear Sir:
In response to your letter of February 14, 1989, I am
submitting the following information :
Pond Modification:
No change is anticipated to the 5=1 side slopes as per your
request . Therefore no changes are requested to the approved
storm drain system (pipes, catch basins, outlet or pond
geometry) .
"Tile Drain" Installation:
An easement across lot 11 is being prepared and will be
recorded prior to the County 's approval of the subdivision
improvements (and release of the Guarantee Bond) .
All construction will be done as per the attached
"Construction Requirements for Tie-in to New Jerusalem Drainage
District Pipelines" and inspection by the district and local
soils conservation service is anticipated .
The Home Owner's Association C . C . & R. 's will guarantee
maintenance of the "Tile Drain" ( if ever required) . The County
service area currently is not expected to maintain the system .
If this situation changes in the future, the system will have to
be brought up to then current standards .
The existing main "collector line" flows at a hydraulic
grade of approximately . 002 ft/ft to the river . As per a
telephone conversation with N .J . D . D . personnel and Mr . Bob Stroud
of the Stockton office of the U .S . Soils Conservation Service, if
the river's water level is ever higher than the gravity outflow,
the flap gate closes and the flow is diverted to a pumping plant,
which is equipped with an emergency gravity by-pass system . This
insures against any backflow into the system .
- ROY A. GALLI, C.E. • ROBERT R. BRADEN • DENNIS E. WILSON
