In order to con-
tinue the present level of service after this project is completed
it will be necessary Co create a funding mechanism, such as a police
service district, to provide additional police services.
The following measures should be taken to mitigate the impact this
development will have on Sheriff's services:
Tower Park ahuuld contact the County Board of Supervisors and explore
the feasibility of creating a service district to fund additional
patrol deputies t•u meeL Che greater demand for police services thin
project will create.
Ic has been our experience that many people who rent house boats are
unfamiliar with boating and the Delta. Consequently, our Boating Safety
Division has had to investigate numerous Boating accidents involving
rented house boats. Tower Park should provide instuction to all per3ons
who rent vessels. The instruction should include, but not be limited to,
boat handling, water safety, nautical rules of the road and navigation
on the Delta.
The RV park should be supervised at all times with a park host/hostess,
caretaker or security guard. Park rules should be enforced by in-house
security.
