Woodward
Manteca, California 95336
COMPLIANCE WITH IRON AND MANGANESE STANDARDS
In my letter of September 1, 1987, I presented Oakwood Lake with
the options of either bringing the water system into compliance
with the iron and manganese standards or pursuing an exemption
through the procedure set forth in my September 1, 1987, letter.
Based on our subsequent meeting and some contacts which your
engineer has made with this office, it is evident that Oakwood
Lake is currently pursuing an exemption. Please provide the
Department with a schedule which the following requirements of
the exemption procedure will be completed.
1 . Complete an engineering evaluation of the corrective action
necessary to achieve compliance with the iron and manganese
standards.
2 . Submit the engineering report and the consumer survey
proposed for distribution to the customers supplied by the
water system to the Department for review and approval prior
to distribution.
3 . Distribute the approved survey notice and questionnaire to
the consumers.
4 .
