(VYATt
AS SOCIATE S i N C
FINAL REMEDIATION'PLAN
I FOR
SOIL,AND GROUNDWATER REMEEDIA;TION
Stockton Fire Engine Company No. 2
110 West Sonora Street
Stockton,California
1.0 INTRODUCTION
jOn Behalf of the City of Stockton, ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this Final Remediation Plan
(F")for the remediation of hydrocarbon-impacted soil and groundwater at Fire Engine Company No.
2 in Stockton, California. The hydrocarbon of primary concern is gasoline. While diesel and methyl
tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) have also been detected at the site, the extents and concentrations are
generally less of a concern than gasoline. This FRP includes a conceptual design for a groundwater air
sparge (AS) system combined with a vapor extraction system (VES) to remediate gasoline M
hydrocarbons. As a result of the gasoline remediation,it is anticipated that diesel and MTBE will also }
be remediated, eitherdirectly or by enhanced natural attenuation. The FRP has been prepared for
review,,comment, and approval by the California Regional Water Quality Control:Board and the San
Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHSIEHD) prior to final'
i
design, installation, and operation of the proposed systems.
The subject site is located on the southwest comer of Commerce Street and Sonora Street in Stockton,
California, as shown on Figure 1, Site Vicinity Map The,location:of the existing monitoring wells,
vapor extraction wells, station building, former underground storage tanks(UM), and other pertinent
features are shown on Figure 2, Generalized Site Plan. Between April 1, 1987 and October 28, 1993,
six USTs were removed from the site. The location of tanks TI through T5 are shown on Figure 2.
The exact location of tank T6 is not known, but the tank was located in the southeast portion of the
site, near Commerce Street, and south of Church Street. According to information provided to ATC
by PHSlEHD, samples obtained from the location of T6 following overexcavation were below
detection levels for gasoline hydrocarbons.
WA62514.0ltCAP rep©rt.dac 1 '
4
