California.
Mr. Escobar:
At the request of the City of Stockton Department of Public Works, Applied Geo5ystems
is submitting this second work plan addendum to drill five additional soil borings and install
one additional groundwater monitoring well at Fire Engine Company No. 2, 110 West
Sonora Street in Stockton, California. In December 1988, Applied GeoSystems conducted
a subsurface environmental investigation according to Work Plan 38009-1, dated March 9,
1988,and our Addendum to Work Plan Letter dated November 7, 1988. This work did not
delineate the extent of soil and ground-water contamination.
{ The- site is on the southwest corner of Commerce Street and West Sonora Street in
Stockton, California, as shown on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate P-1). Four underground
storage tanks (T-1 through T-4) are on northwest corner of the property, as shown along
with other site characteristics on the Generalized Site Plan (Plate P-2). We understand
from information supplied by the- Department of Public Works, that two of the tanks
contain 550 gallons of diesel, one tank contains 1,000 gallons of leaded gasoline, and one
tank contains 250 gallons of waste oil.
We understand from information supplied by the Department of Public Works, that a 1,000-
gallon tank that stored unleaded gasoline was removed from the site on or before April 1,
W 1987. The tank was removed because a leak of unknown size was discovered during a
precision test.
Iabeled" T-S on Plate`P-1: Results of the
laboratory analyses of one soil sample collected after the tank removal are reported in our
Work Plan 38009-1.
In our December 1988 subsurface environmental investigation,we drilled three soil borings.
NO collected soil samples from the borings, installed three groundwater monitoring wells,
developed the wells, collected groundwater samples, and evaluated the local ground-water
