Fourth Quarter 2004 Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report
j Stockton Center Site Authority—University Park
I January 10,2005
k `
Page 3 of 6
smeasuring points are slightly below the ground surface). The average groundwater elevation measured in
the monitoring.wells decreased 1.36 feet between August 10 and November 10, 2004. The estimated
groundwater gradient for the site on November 10, 2004, was 0.0018 ft/ft to the southeast and is shown in
Figure 2, attached.
Table 2 Groundwater Elevation Data (November 10, 2004)
Well Number TOC Elevation (feet) D-1- to Groundwater(feet) Groundwater EIevation(feet)
MW-1 . 17.42 42.71 -25.29
MW-2 17.59 42.97 25.38
MW-3 17.16 42.60 25.44
TOC=Top of Casing
TOC Elevation: Referenced to NAVD88 datum from NGS Benchmark HS3999.
LABORATORY ANALYTICAL RESULTS
Groundwater samples were collected from monitor wells MW-1 and MW-3 on November 10, 2004.
Monitor well MW-2 was sampled on November 11, 2004, .due to slow recovery after purging. All
groundwater samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-G) by
EPA Method 8015m, for benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Method
8020, and for gasoline oxygenates/additives by EPA Method 8260B. The gasoline oxygenates/additives
included methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), ethanol, tertiary-butanol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (RIPE);
ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB or 1,2-
DBA), and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), Monitor wells MW=1 and MW-3 were also analyzed for total
petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as kerosene, diesel, and motor oil (TPH-K, -D, and -MO) by EPA
Method 8015m. Following purging of groundwater from monitor well MW-2, the well-did not recover
sufficiently (did not contain enough groundwater volume) to collect a sample for TPH-K, -D, and -MO.
Excelchem Environmental Labs of Roseville, California analyzed the groundwater samples. The
laboratory analytical results for the groundwater samples collected from the monitor wells on November
10, 2004, are presented in Table 3, on the next page, and in Figure 3, attached. Historical groundwater
monitoring data and the laboratory report (certificates of analyses and chain-of-custody record) are also
attached.
h
