Also in March 2000, two borings, B-10 and B-11, were advanced to investigate areas of potential <br /> envirorunental impact east of the CSMS building Bonng B-10 was located at a former <br /> hazardous materials stoiage shed A trace concentration of hydraulic oil-weight petroleum <br /> hydiocatbon was detected at a depth of ten feet bgs, no other COCl, including VOCs in soil <br /> vapor, were detected Boring B-11 was ad-vanced where sand blasting activities may have <br /> resulted in a heavy metals impact to the subsurface The CVRVIQCB recorninended that <br /> shallower samples be collected in these areas to complete their assessment <br /> 1.13 01.15 <br /> I <br /> Environmental issues at the following locations at this facility were identified and initially <br /> investigated by Versai in March 2000 <br /> 1 14 Fuehng Area <br /> One 5,000-gallon diesel UST, one 10,000-gallon gasoline UST, and a dispenser island with two <br /> dispensers were used for OMS operations vehicle fueling The USTs were removed in April <br /> 1996 (Sew and Schreder Construction, 1996) Releases of diesel fuel and gasoline appear to have <br /> occuixed from the two UST, although benzene and toluene were not detected in soil samples <br /> collected at the tune of UST removal The highest concentrations of TPH-d and TPH as gasoline <br /> (TPH-g) detected in soil were 12.000 mg/kg and 7,100 mg/k-, respectively The highest <br /> concentrations of the worriatic hydiocarbons ethylbenzene and total xylene isorneis, detected in <br /> • soil ci ere 62 ma/kc, and 580 mg/kg, iespectn ely No MTBE was detected in soil samples <br /> collected fioni the Site The highest lead concentiation detected in soil 'was 10 mg/kg <br /> Veisai advanced two borings in Maich 2000 at the former location of the two USTs The <br /> borings were advanced to 25 feet in depth and sampled at 10, 15 and 20 feet bgs for petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline and diesel fuel TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in each boring at a <br /> depth of 25 feet One boring contained soil concentrations of TPH-g and TPH-d of 25 4 mg/kg <br /> and 209 mg/kg, respectively The second boring contained soil concentrations of TPH-g and <br /> TPH-d of 5 9 mg/kg and 8 13 mg/kg. respectively <br /> 1.15 Vehicle Inspection Rack <br /> Versai detected petroleum. hydrocarbons 1n March 2000 in shallow soil in the area of the vehicle <br /> inspection rack Jet fuel-weight petroleum hydrocarbons were detected at a concentration of <br /> 10 500 mg/kg at the south end of the vehicle inspection rack The release appeals to n-rapact soil <br /> to depths greater than 10 feet bgs and inay. therefore, present a potential impact to groundwater <br /> 011-weight petroleum hydrocarbons were also detected in soil at this location at a concentration <br /> of 153 mg/kg TPH-g and TPH-d were detected at concentrations of 9 24 mg/kg and 14 2 ing/kg <br /> respectively Volatile oigatnc compounds (VOCs) were not detected in soil Napor <br /> 104700 4766 230/08s1=PT2004 J <br />
