<br /> Analyses of the groundwater samples collected on April 3, 1997, from monitoring wells
<br /> MW1, MW2, and MW3 identified no concentrations of TPH-JP4, BTEX, or MTBE at or above
<br /> laboratory detection limits During the past four rounds of groundwater sampling at the Site,
<br /> trace concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons have been identified in monitoring wells MW2
<br /> and MW3 In comparing groundwater levels with concentrations reported in the groundwater, it
<br /> appears there is a direct relationship between groundwater elevations and concentrations of
<br /> petroleum hydrocarbons However, the concentrations have not been significantly elevated and
<br /> Versar believes that based on the depth to water at the Site, the low to moderately permeable soil,
<br /> and competent surface concrete, the presence of minor and sporadic groundwater contamination
<br />' does not pose a threat to human health and the environment at the Site through inhalation,
<br /> ingestion, or absorption In addition,there are no domestic, agricultural, or industrial wells
<br /> withing a 2,000-foot radius of the Site Based on this information, Versar requests, on behalf of
<br /> the Division of the State Architect, that the PHS/EHD grant Site closure
<br /> 6.0 FUTURE ACTIVITIES
<br /> Pending the granting of Site closure, there are currently no future activities planned at the
<br /> Site If Site closure is granted, removal of the Site groundwater monitoring wells will likely be
<br /> required as a condition of closure
