One
soil boring (SB-3) was advanced onsite to a total depth of 149.5 feet below surface grade
(bsg). During the drilling of the borehole, soil samples were collected at select intervals from
10 feet bsg to total depth and two temporary wells were installed to collect depth discrete
grab groundwater samples. The groundwater samples were collected from screened
intervals at 115-125 feet bsg, and 135-140 feet bsg. Laboratory analytical results indicate
the vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination in soil ends at approximately 60
feet bsg, but remains undefined in groundwater.
In the Report, Arcadis recommends installation of one depth-discrete groundwater monitoring
well to verify the analytical results from the groundwater samples collected from the
temporary wells in SB-3. A work plan describing the installation plan for the proposed well
are included in the Report. The well will be installed through a conductor casing and set at
total depth of 140 feet bsg, with a five-foot screen interval.
The EHD approves the installation of the proposed well. Please proceed with submittal of a
San Joaquin County well permit application, required $89.00 permit fee and with scheduling
the approved work. Deadline for installation of the proposed well is January 25, 2009.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Sincerely,
Lori Duncan, REHS Nuel C.
