7
21 November 2003 T
AGE-NC Project No 02-0964
(pg/l) In addition,BTEX compounds were detected in sample MW-1 at concentrations ranging from
29 ug/1 of toluene to 3,100 ug/1 of xylenes
No other target analytes were detected in the samples analyzed Analytical results of the monitoring
well ground water samples are summarized in Tables 2 and 3 The laboratory reports (CTEL 1 D
CT214-0310122), quality assurance and quality control and chain-of-custody forms are presented
' in Appendix C
4.0. CONCLUSIONS
The findings from the October 2003 ground water monitoring event are as follows
• Ground water flow direction at the water table was towards the east to northeast at a gradient
o f 0 01 Rift The ground water elevation at the site has decreased 1 57 feet between Apn1 and
October 2003
• TPH-g was detected in ground water sample from well MW-1 at a concentration of
6,300µg/l The BTEX compounds benzene(220 Ag/1),ethylbenzene(1,200µg/1)and xylenes
(3,100 Ag/l) in sample MW-1 were significantly above the DHS's Maximum Contaminant
Levels established for these compounds in drinking water
• The extent of TPH and BTEX compounds has not been defined
50. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of this investigations, AGE recommends
• Continued quarterly monitoring of the site, the next morutonng eventis scheduled for January
2003
• Additional assessment of the lateral and vertical extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil and
ground water in the vicinity of the former Chevron dispensers, and in the City of Stockton
Right of Way east of the site
• Once the impact to soil and ground water impact has been delineated, a work plan should be
prepared for feasibility testing to evaluate various remedial alternatives at the site
I
