E-:-;—G = G GEGL Gar ' IC40 ' E r7r_CC '+..�_ r l= January 29, 1991 Post Tank Attention Jeff Post P O Box 657 West Sacramento, California 95691 SOILS SAMPLING AND TESTING SWIFT TRANSPORTATION 781 Swift Way Stockton, California WKA No 1004 37 Introduction We have completed the observation, sampling and laboratory testing of soils exposed during the removal of two underground fuel tanks from the subject property One 10,000-gallon diesel tank and one 7,500-gallon diesel tank were removed from the property on January 14, 1991. The scope of our work included sampling and laboratory testing of sods obtained from beneath each end of the diesel fuel tanks and at every 20 lineal feet along product line as recommended in the Sampling Protocol for Routine Tank Removals presented in the Tri-Regional Guidelines of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (CRWQCB) Soil samples were obtained by driving clean, two-mch diameter brass tubes into soil taken from the sample locations with a backhoe bucket, sample Iocations and depths are shown on Plate 1 The sample tubes were sealed with aluminum foil, plastic caps, and tape to reduce volatile hydrocarbon loss. Samples were preserved on ice and submitted to a certified analytical laboratory for analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH), and benzene, toluene,xylene and ethyl benzene (BTX&E).
