Bennett Re : Supplemental Assessment of Soil and Ground Water Mobil Station #10-NP4 located at the corner of Tracy Boulevard and Grantline Road in Tracy , CA Dear Mr . Bennett : In accordance with the Kaprealian Engineering Inc. (KEI) proposal dated August 27 , 1986, KEI installed four ground water monitoring wells at Mobil Service Station #10-NP4 in Tracy , California. Preliminary soil and water investigation , conducted during the underground tanks removal , revealed presense of gasoline constituents in the shallow groundwater . The most recent investigation was to further define the on-site extent of the gasoline contamination. FIELD INVESTIGATION Four (4) monitoring wells (desiganated MW-1 through MW-4 on the attached sketch) were drilled using continuous flight hollow- stem auger drilling equipment and were logged by certified geologist . The wells were completed in accordance with the guidelines of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board . A description of the subsurface materials penetrated and details of the construction of the wells are contained on the accompanying Exploratory Boring Logs. MW-1 was drilled and completed to a depth of 20.0 feet . Free ground water was encountered at a depth of 7 .0 feet and remained at this level following completion of drilling. No evidence of gasoline odor was encountered. MW-2 was drilled and completed to a depth of 20.0 feet . Free ground water was encountered at a depth of 7 .0 feet . Following completion of drilling, the static water level remained at this level . No evidence of gasoline odor was noted.
