W. Bennett
Re : Subsurface Investigation of Soil and Groundvater
Mobil Station #10-NP4
2375 Tracy Boulevard
Tracy , California
Dear Mr . Bennett :
In accordance with our proposal dated October 14 , 1986 ,
Kaprealian Engineering , Inc . (KEI ) installed four additional
groundwater monitoring wells at the Mobil Service Station
referenced above . Four monitoring wells (MLT-1 to MW-4) were
installed during our previous investigation in September ,
1986 ( see attached sketch) . Subsequent sampling of the
monitoring wells revealed no free product , but did reveal the ,
presence of dissolved gasoline constituents in two wells (MW-
3 & HW-4) . The results of that investigation were described
in our report dated September 12 , 1986 . The purpose of the
current investigation was to define the lateral extent of the
dissolved contamination .
FIELD INVESTIGATION
Four monitoring wells (MW-5 through MW--8) were installed on
January 27 , 1987 at the locations shown on the attached
sketch. M14-5 was placed on-site and the other three wells
were placed off-site .
The monitoring wells were drilled using continuous-flight
hollow-stem auger drilling equipment and were logged by = a KEI
geologist . Soil samples for laboratory analysis were
obtained by advancing a California modified split-spoon
sampler into undisturbed soil beyond the tip of the auger . A
description of the subsurface materials penetrated and well
construction details accompany the attached Exploratory
Boring Logs.
