». a The dissolved-phase hydrocarbon constituents in the
+ ground water onsite appears to be limited to the
northeast corner of the property extending towards
Tracy Boulevard and Grant Line Road.
o Based on the above findings, no further character-
ization of the onsite subsurface hydrocarbon plume is
necessary at this time.
9.0 FEASIBILITY STUDY
Based on the findings and conclusions of the preceding
investigation, it is apparent that remediation of the
hydrocarbon-contaminated ground water at former Mobil Service
Station 10-Np4 is necessary to comply with applicable
regulations and prevent further impact to the subsurface
environment. This feasibility study (FS) was performed to
evaluate appropriate general response actions, available
technologies, and viable ground water remediation
-
alternatives appropriate for the site.
The objective of the feasibility study is to identify and
_ evaluate viable alternative remedial technologies and cleanup
measures prior to selecting the preferred alternative based
on technical, economic, environmental, and legal factors. To
achieve this objective, the study encompassed the following:
o Review existing site conditions and findings of the
previous studies performed at the site.
• Establish remedial objectives.
T;' o Identify potentially applicable general response
actions and technologies.
® Screen each potentially applicable general response
action/technology on the basis of technical
effectiveness and implementability.
w Conduct a cost effectiveness analysis of the most
viable remedial alternatives and technologies.
9.1 Eertingnt
Site conditions and the results of the site characterization
study performed by Alton Geoscience, Inc. are discussed in
-u detail in the preceding sections of this report. Findings
from the study which are pertinent to the remediation of the
site are summarized below:
18
