In the letter, we <br /> interpret the directive as to cease operation of both the soil vapor extraction and <br /> ozone injection systems. The ozone system, as you are aware, has been <br /> operating at the site on a "pilot" study basis (approved for an initial 6 months and <br /> extended for another 6 months). Currently, we are in the middle of the pilot test <br /> extension. <br /> Since the letter (directive) is requiring rebound "testing" for the remediation <br /> system, and one or both systems may have to be re-started (depending upon <br /> results of rebound testing), we are proposing to continue the "rental" of the ozone <br /> system throughout the rebound period. Otherwise, costs would be incurred to <br /> dismantle and decommission the system then, if necessary, re-connect and <br /> resume operation of the system. Unless otherwise directed by the EHD, we will <br /> continue the rental period with the rental Company until the rebound issue has <br /> been decided. <br /> If you have any questions, please contact our office immediately.
