The plan is a proposal to extract petroleum
hydrocarbon contaminant vapor from the soil and break down petroleum
hydrocarbon contaminants in soil and groundwater using ozone as a result
of unauthorized releases from the UST which was located on the property.
Contaminants in the extracted vapor will be removed by activated carbon
filters and ozone will break down the contaminants into carbon dioxide and
water.
The EHD has made a tentative determination that the plan is in compliance
with California Health & Safety Code Chapter 6.7, Section 25299.37 and
California Code of Regulation Corrective Action Requirements, and that
the resultant work will not create significant adverse environmental impacts
which exceed the benefits to be gained from cleanup of the contamination.
The remediation plan is available for public review at the EHD office at 600
East Main Street, Stockton during normal working hours, 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m.
Final approval for the plan is scheduled for July 18, 2011.
Questions should be directed to Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS, at (209)
468-9852 or sent in writing to her at the EHD, 600 East Main Street,
Stockton, California 95202.
