We received the analytical rc sults from the Ozone Bench Scale Testing last week. With the injection of
ozone, contaminants were gr atly decreased(over 95%), however, metallic byproducts, such as
Chromium VI and bromate, vere mobilized (concentrations increased).
Despite the mobilization of these metals, I do think the test is positive/successful, in that:
1) Contaminant concentrations decreased greatly; and
2)After the testing, approximately 19 days, the metal concentrations began to fall greatly.
Oxidation as a remedial technology can still be implemented at the site, however, a contingency plan
would have to prepared to remediate any metals issues. This usually involves permitting with the
Regional Water Quality Conrol Board and preparation of work plan to assure that metal concentrations
are monitored. We currently Indo this monitoring at other sites.
Our next step is to prepare a 'report documenting the results of the ozone bench scale test, and ask the
County Environmental Health for approval for the preparation of a work plan.
If you have any questions or('concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Take care, and have a nice
Labor Day weekend.
Ally Colavita
Project Scientist
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
Stockton • Santa Rosa • Mc nterey • Brea• Spokane •Reno
800-511-9300
acol avi ta(ci,advgeoenv.coin
www.advveoenv.com
This email/fax message isfot the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and
privileged information.
