R. Gould & Sons was owned by the same men as Turnpike Associates and they were named as a responsible party, but it was a corporation that no longer exists. Your mothers attorney wanted Turnpike Associates named because they were a partnership and the individual partners could be named and this has been done. The appeal information is what your mothers attorney filed so I'm sure it is also in your mothers paperwork. She was also sent copies of all the notices of responsiblility. I'm glad you were able to talk to Jim Barton. Please understand that you can't just drop by when you are in town to review the file. You have to set up a time and date with Diane Martinez as I informed you previously. He was very helpful as I continue to understand the process. He also was very complimentary about you and Vicky--I told him I'd been pleased with your service as well. He said that you are very good at keeping contractors moving toward getting the sites cleaned up. We will be more active than we have been working with the contractor as well. The letters you attached to your e-mail have given me a start and if there are other such memos, please send them as well. Otherwise the next time I'm in Stockton I'll come in to look thru the file. I will be drafting a Tette to you expressing how frustrating it is to have Mom as the only responsible party to :ome up to the plate within a program for which neither the Act nor regulations provide fo assuring all responsible parties participate. There is nothing the county or the state can do anything about this, I know. The purpose of the letter would be jus to have it in the record and perhaps even serve as a basis for amendments to the Act or r gulations.
