(CV;U to produce valid,verifiable data. <br /> the following document deals with the quality assurance (QA) program implemented <br /> by CWL to ensure that high-quality laboratory operations are maintained. The most <br /> important function of this QA program is to warrant that the analytical data generated <br /> by the laboratory is of known accuracy and precision; that, if necessary, it is legally <br /> defensible, and that samples provide accurate characterization of the source from <br /> which they were derived. <br /> This is a condensed version of the laboratory's internal QA manual. Ifyou require <br /> more specific information, contact the Quality Assurance Manager. <br /> CAPABILITY AND SERVICE <br /> California Water Labs is a full-service analytical laboratory, certified to assist <br /> clients with monitoring and correcting an unusually wide range of problems with <br /> water, soil, and air contamination. <br /> The company Is an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) qualified contractor. <br /> able to conduct analytical investigations of particularly large and complex samples <br /> with urgent turnaround requirements. Its capabilities include EPA methods for <br /> Gasoline, Diesel. BTX. PCB, Pesticides, and Herbicides for both soil and water. In <br /> > addition to the EPA qualification for organic analysis,the company has received quah- <br /> $cation under the U.S. Army and the Army Corps of Engineers programs. and is <br /> certified by the State of California In the protocols for hazardous waste testing and <br /> potable water testingwWchincludes AB1803. CWL also performs work in other states <br /> with reciprocal certification plans for laboratories participating in EPA performance <br /> evaluation programs. <br /> The strict performance criteria that CWL meets in contracts with federal.state, and <br /> local agencies are applied equally in services to the private sector. The company <br /> regularly provides analyses for more than 4,000 clients in the western United States <br /> and elsewhere. <br /> With its extensive and sophisticated field service capabilities, CWL often has con- <br /> ducted on-site sampling and reporting at far-distant and remote locations more <br /> quickly and Lnex-pensively than a close-by lab would have been able to do. Through <br /> our network of over 40 Thortec International and URS Consultants,Inc.offices,we can <br /> provide prompt and efficient field services support virtually anywhere in the country. <br /> > For those clients across the nation who do not require field service, the company <br /> provides standard sampling and shipping materials for fast access to its lab analysis <br /> capabilities. <br /> The Laboratory <br /> Our fully automated organics and inorganic labs are located in a 17,000-square- <br /> foot facility in Modesto, California. CWL has the ability to measure for chemical, <br /> metals, biological, physical and mixed parameters of great comple:dty and at the <br /> lowest detection levels.
