First Aid and Emergency ui ment <br /> f During onsite investigation activities at`the site,. a variety of first aid and emergency <br /> equipment will be maintained in the support zone... All environmentalpersonnel will have, <br /> access to this equipment in the event an injury or an exposure occurs. The various types of <br /> first aid equipment that.will be available include: <br /> • Fire Extinguisher <br /> • First Aid Kit <br /> • Instant Coldpacks <br /> • Scissors <br /> • Sterile Eye Wash <br /> • Bloodborne Pathogen Kit <br /> " I <br /> Personnel Injury <br /> Emergency first aid will be applied onsite as deemed necessary followed by,decontamination <br /> and transport of the individual to the nearest :medical facility if needed. The SSO will supply <br /> medical information to the appropriate medical personnel.' An ambulance/rescue squad shall <br /> be contacted for transport as necessary in an emergency. <br /> General First Aid <br /> Generic first aid procedures are includedin this section. Typical responses`rnay include: <br /> Skin Contact: Use copious amounts of soap and water. Wash/rinse affected area thoroughly, <br /> then provide appropriate medical attention. An eyewash system will be <br /> provided onsite at the support zone as appropriate, Eyes should be rinsed for <br /> 15 minutes upon chemical"Contamination. <br /> Inhalation: Move the victim to fresh air immediately. If necessary, restore breathing. <br /> Decontaminate and transport tohospital if required. <br /> Ingestion: Decontaminate and transport the victim to emergency medical facility. <br /> immediately. <br /> 1 <br /> Fire/Explosion <br /> In the event of fire or explosion, or potential fire/explosion, the emergency system should be <br /> notified at 911.
