L S.01
Ld sampling Iocations may be moved due to access restrictions, presence of utilities, and/or
sample results. At each sampling location, we will attempt to collect soil gas samples at
depths of 15, 30, and 45 feet bgs. The three sampling depths were selected to provide
data that could eventually be used for the design of a soil remediation system, if further
remediation is deemed necessary.
V
A direct-push hydraulic or percussion drive-point sampling system will be
employed to collect the soil gas samples. At the prescribed interval, the drive rods will
be slightly retracted to expose the slotted portion of the expendable drive-point. Tubing,
lowered down the drive train as they are being advanced, will be evacuated prior to
V
collecting the gas sample. The collected gas sample will be analyzed for BTEX using
EPA Method 8020, and for TPH using EPA Method 8015 modified.
I
At the request of PHS/EHD, soil samples will be collected as confirmation of soil
gas analytical results. Soil samples will be collected at 3 of the 10 soil gas sample
ry
locations (adjacent to Tanks #1, #2 and #3) at depths of 15, 30, and 45 feet bgs to
verify the results of the soil gas survey. These soil samples will also serve to further
characterize possible sources at these locations.
4
A direct-push hydraulic or percussion drive-point sampling system will be
employed to collect the soil samples. At the prescribed interval, the drive rods will be
Ld retracted and a split barrel sampler will be sent downhole to collect an undisturbed soil
sample. All soil samples will be sent to a state certified offsite lab and will be analyzed
t, for BTEX using EPA Method 8020, and for TPH-g using EPA Method 8015 modified.
Soil samples collected adjacent to Tank #3 will also be analyzed for TPH-d and TPH-k.
In the event that soil gas samples are unable to be collected at any of the proposed
sample locations (e.g., due to low air permeability), it is proposed that soil samples be
ti. collected and analyzed for BTEX and TPH.
R4182OA-625960-5
soilvap2.pin 5
6+
