Union Ice Company `l7nion Street, Stockton low
Re-excavation Work Plan & Installation of Additional Monitoring Wells
Page 4
Union Ice building and the fence (property line). There is also a high pressure fuel line
approximately 10 feet west of the fence.
These obstacles could limit the size of the excavation. An excavator will be used for
the excavation. The approximate depth of the excavation will be 25 feet (Figure b). It
is estimated that approximately 425 cubic yards of soil will be removed.
The overburden will be stockpiled at the southwest end of the property. This stockpile
will be sampled and, if clean, will be used to backfill the excavation. If the results are
over 50 ppm, then an aeration permit will be taken out from the Air Pollution Control
District.
The wells and bottom of the excavation will be sampled and sent to GeoMonitor
Laboratories of Hesperia, California, which is a State certified laboratory. A PID
(photoioni.zation detector) will be present on site during the drilling activities to monitor
the air around the excavation, along with the samples taken from the excavation.
