The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been <br /> addressed for Gonzalez Auto Repair as of April 22, 2020. <br /> Open violations from January 15, 2020 inspection <br /> Violation#101 -Managed a hazardous waste without an identification number. <br /> OBSERVATION: This business does not have an active hazardous waste ID number(CAL000407795)in the <br /> California Department of Toxic Substances Control(DTSC)database. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: A hazardous waste generator shall not treat, store,dispose of,transport or offer for <br /> transportation, hazardous waste without having received an Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)Identification <br /> (ID) Number. A State EPA ID number is required for generators of less than 100 kg RCRA hazardous waste per <br /> month, less than 1 kg of acutely hazardous waste per month or any amount of non-RCRA hazardous waste. ID <br /> numbers are unique to a business and site location. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Go to the DTSC web site at https://dtsc.ca.gov/apply-for-hazardous-waste-epa-id-number/ <br /> to reactivate your State ID number. Immediately reactivate your ID number and submit evidence to the San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Department within 30 days. <br /> ❑ This violation was corrected ❑This violation will be corrected by(date): <br /> ❑ Supporting documents included <br /> Describe actions taken or will be taken to correct violation: <br /> Violation#102-Failed to determine if a waste is a hazardous waste. <br /> OBSERVATIONS: Guillermo Gonzalez, Owner, stated that he was using rags instead of absorbent to clean oil and <br /> was having them laundered by Mission Linen. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste <br /> as specified in Title 22 California Code of Regulations(CCR). There are wastes that are listed as hazardous <br /> wastes. There are wastes that exhibit one or more of the hazardous waste characteristics:toxic, corrosive, reactive <br /> or ignitable. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately cease disposal and make a hazardous waste determination for the rags. <br /> Begin to manage the rags according to Title 22 CCR. Use Safety Data Sheets(SDS),waste sampling and test <br /> results or other knowledge to support your hazardous waste determination. Waste testing must be done using <br /> methods specified in Title 22 CCR including sections 66261.20-24. <br /> Submit a statement and supporting documentation with your hazardous waste determination. Demonstrate current <br /> storage and labeling for wastes determined to be hazardous wastes.
