HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION STATION O <br /> The Basics <br /> The Store Team Leader must designate an area in the backroom as the Hazardous Waste Collection <br /> area, preferably where damages are processed. You must use the Hazardous Waste - Location <br /> Selection document to ensure the best location is chosen. Ensure the collection area is never kept by <br /> consumables, store cleaning supplies, or floor drains. <br /> The Hazardous Waste Collection Station area must contain the following: <br /> • (6) 66 Quart Labeled Hazardous Waste Storage Totes (organized on 4-shelf storage unit) <br /> - Flammable <br /> - Oxidizers <br /> - Corrosive Bases <br /> - Corrosive Acids <br /> - Toxics <br /> - Universal Waste <br /> - 6 Quart Storage Box (for batteries; kept inside universal waste tote) <br /> • 5 Gallon Hazardous Material Spill Kit <br /> • Hazardous Material Spill Kit Supplies <br /> - Latex/Nitrile Gloves <br /> -Absorbent Pads <br /> - Gallon Size Sealing Storage Bags <br /> - Clear Trash Bags <br /> • 6 Quart Storage Totes <br /> - Goggles <br /> - Dust-Mask <br /> - Eye Wash <br /> - Scotch Tape <br /> - Sharpie Marker <br /> - Black Ink Pen <br /> - Hazardous Material Labels. <br /> • Store Map (the following must be clearly labeled) <br /> - Hazardous Waste Collection Area <br /> - Hose Bibs (Spigots) <br /> - Spill Magic Stations <br /> - Fire Extinguishers <br /> - Emergency Exit Route <br /> • Spill Magic Station (dust pan cannot be metal to avoid sparks/ignition) <br /> • Hazardous Material Quick Reference Guide Poster <br /> • Hazardous Waste Manager Reference Binder <br /> On the following pages we are going to guide you through the set up of your Hazardous Waste <br /> Collection Station. <br /> BIG LOTS.► Hazardous Waste Management Program <br /> Revised 3/21/16 <br />
