Hazardous Waste Management Program <br />Revised 3/21/16 <br />SPILL CLEANUP <br />Store associates may not clean up a spill of hazardous material without management supervision. <br />If there is a small spill of a hazardous material, use the steps below to clean it up. Call the Waste <br />Management Hot-line at 1-866-819-1926 if the spill is larger than you typically handle, or if you need <br />assistance. <br />NOTE:DO NOTYDFXXPKD]DUGRXVVSLOOVRIDQ\NLQGZHWRUGU\ <br />1. Secure the area to prevent customer or associate access. <br />2.Identify the spilled material. <br />3. Determine if the spilled material is hazardous. If you are unsure, call the Waste Management <br /> Hot-line at 1-866-819-1926 for assistance. If the material may be hazardous, put on <br /> gloves and goggles. <br />4. If you are certain the spilled material is non-hazardous, no special clean-up procedures are <br /> required. For example, a mop and bucket are acceptable. <br />5. If a spilled liquid material may be hazardous, absorb the spilled material with Spill Magic. The spill <br /> procedure for hazardous liquids is outlined below. <br />6. If a spilled powder may be hazardous, control dust by using damp paper towels to collect the <br /> spilled powder. <br />7. Ensure all spilled, clean-up and contaminated materials are collected and bagged in a gallon size, <br /> zip-loc style sealing storage bag. <br />8. Ensure there are no free liquids in the gallon size, zip-loc style sealing storage bag. Add Spill Magic <br /> to the gallon size, zip-loc style sealing storage bag, as necessary. <br />9. Seal the bag completely. <br />10.Place the sealed bag into a second gallon size, zip-loc style sealing storage bag. <br />11. Seal the second bag completely. <br />12. Using a permanent marker, write the name of the product, SKU and your initials on the bag. <br />13. Place the double-bagged hazardous waste item in the haz-mat tote labeled with the appropriate <br /> category of waste. <br />14.Log SKU and Product information onto your Non-Saleable Hazardous Material Checklist. <br />MANAGING HAZARDOUS WASTE 25
