SECTION 4. 0 4A SITE CONTROL Site control is necessary to protect the personnel of CGRS our clients , subcontractors and the general public , and as a means of reducing exposure to contaminants and injuries . The risk of exposure to hazards and injuries will be reduced or eliminated by the use of the following methods where appropriate : • Setting up security of physical barriers at the work-site ; • Minimizing the number of personnel and equipment on -site consistent with effective operations ; • Establish work zones within the site ; • Establish control points to regulate access to work zone ; • Establish emergency evacuation routes and assembly areas . The health and safety plan will be discussed at the beginning of each day and the job foreman will review it each day . The Project Manager will review it each week . An emergency plan will be reviewed , along with routes to the nearest emergency facilities . Tailgate meetings will be conducted on site at the beginning of each workday and will include discussions of actions to be taken to minimize risks to on -site workers , visitors , and the public . 4 . 1 , 1 Site Hazard Evaluation = Personal Safety Personal Protection : Level of Protection A B C D Specific potential hazards may include , but are not limited to , heavy equipment operation , exposure to silica dust , hydrocarbon fumes , pinch points , overhead hazards , excessively loud equipment and pedestrian traffic . Modifications : 1 . All personnel must wear hard hat , safety shoes , bright colored vest or shirt and safety glasses . During disinfection events all personnel must wear hard hat , steel toed safety shoes , safety glasses , gloves , and hearing protection as required . 2 . Hearing protection must be worn if noise levels prevent normal conversation at a distance of three feet . 3 . No smoking , eating or drinking is allowed on site . 4 . No personnel are to enter or approach any excavation area where there is danger of wall collapse or confined space entry . Shoring , trench boxes and ladders shall be used in accordance with the CGRS Health and Safety Manual . 5 . Any personnel approaching machinery , heavy equipment , or excavation equipment shall do so only after establishing direct eye contact with the operator and acknowledgement to approach by the operator . 3
