The soil samples will be field screened with a photoionization <br /> detector for relative hydrocarbon content and described by soil type and hydrocarbon staining. <br /> • The soil borings will be grouted with neat cement (cement and bentonite mix) from the base of the <br /> boring to the surface. <br /> • If hydrocarbon stained soil is evolved from the borings it will be containerized in 55-gallon drums <br /> and labeled as contamined soil. Characterization of this soil will be conducted and once excepted <br /> the drums will be disposed of at a State permited facility as non-hazardous or Non-RCRA hazardous <br /> waste, If determined to be a California hazardous waste an EPA ID No , will be acquired for the <br /> generator if they do not already have one. <br /> • If groundwater is encountered in the borings a groundwater sample will be collected with a <br /> disposable bailer and decanted into a 14iter amber bottle with presevative and three (3) 40-m1 <br /> VOAs. The containers will be labeled and placed into a cooler with ice. <br /> Laboratory Analysis <br /> • The soil samples (4) will be delivered to a State certified analytical laboratory along with a <br /> completed Chain-of-Custody for analysis of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline and <br /> diesel by EPA Method 8015 , for Volatile Organics Compounds by EPA Method 8260, and for lead <br /> by EPA Method 6010.
