Monitor well purge and development water was pumped from sic drums located at the <br /> former Union Ice Facility on August 31, 1995 Approximately 330 gallons of purge and devel- <br /> opment water was pumped by D A Parrish & Sons, Inc , into a septic hauler and taken to the <br /> City of Stocktons' Regional Wastewater Control Facility under the terms of a Wastewater <br /> ' Discharge permit issued by the City of Stockton on July 6, 1995 (Permit # P 831 962 258) <br /> (Appendix B) Three drums of purge and development water with non-removable lids were <br /> ' not disposed of because the bunghole on the drums was too small for the pump hose The <br /> water contained to these drums will be transferred to drums with removable lids during the <br /> next quarterly groundwater monitoring event and will subsequently be taken to the City of <br /> Stocktons' Regional Wastewater Control Facility under a new permit <br /> ' 6.0 CONFIRMATION SAMPLING OF SOILS EXCAVATED FROM 425 NORTH UNION <br /> STREET AND STOCKPILED AT 1320 WEST WEBER STREET FACILITY <br /> On August 3, 1995, soil samples were collected from a soil stockpile at the Union Ice <br /> ' Facility located at 1320 West Weber Street in Stockton, CA The sod was originally excavated <br /> from the former Union Ice Facility located at 425 North Union Street under the supervision of <br /> WHF Consultants (WHF Consultants, 1990) The location of the stockpiled soils from the <br /> North Union Street property was identified by Mr Larry Titsworth of Union Ice during a site <br />' visit conducted on April 4, 1995 The soil stockpile is approximately 125 x 260 feet in size <br /> and ranges from 1 to 3 feet in depth Twenty soil samples were collected in 40-foot intervals <br />' from a grid constructed on the sod stockpile Ms Mary Meays of the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Division was present to oversee the sod sampling <br />' The soil samples were collected by hand-augering a pilot hole approximately 18 to 24 <br /> inches below the ground surface A clean 2x4-inch brass sleeve was placed into a split <br /> spoon sod sampling device and driven with a slide hammer ("slam-bar') into undisturbed soils <br /> at the base of the pilot hole The brass Inver was removed from the soil sampler, covered <br /> with Teflone tape, and sealed with a plastic end-cap The soil samples were labeled, logged <br /> on a Chain-of-Custody, and placed into an ice chest cooled with ice The soil samples were <br />' analyzed for BTEX and TPH in the gasoline, kerosene, diesel, and oil range by AEN <br /> Laboratory <br /> 1 <br /> R41820A 261950-3 3 <br />
