3/26/2020 Mail-eflorido@sjgov.org
Re: Smart & Final #403 - 2019 Hazardous Waste Inspection
Florido, Elianna
Thu 3/26/2020 4:11 PM
To:Darryl Dinson <Darryl.Dinson@smartandfinal.com>;
Hi Darryl,
Thank you for providing the compliance documentation for Smart & Final #403. All of the violations for this store
are now closed. However, with regard to Smart & Finals' new hazardous waste labels, which are to be
generated by the hazardous waste transporter, the "contents/composition" written as either Toxic, Flammable,
Corrosive Acidic, or Corrosive Basic, states the hazardous property of the waste, and not the composition
(or chemical name) of the waste. On the other hand, the labels I observed at the time of inspection included a list
of contents for employee's to check off once the waste was placed into a storage container, which meets the
hazardous waste labeling requirement for composition (contents). Please ensure that the hazardous waste
containers are being labeled with an accurate composition (contents) of the waste.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Elianna Florido, REHS
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
Registered Environmental Health Specialist
1868 East Hazelton Ave
Stockton, CA 95205
P: (209) 468-0343 1 F: (209) 468-3433 1 E: eflorido@sjgov.org
Please note that my email has changed to eflorido@sjgov.org
From: Darryl Dinson <Darryl.Dinson@smartandfinal.com>
Sent:Wednesday, November 27, 2019 2:11 PM
To: Florido, Elianna
Subject: Smart& Final #403 -2019 Hazardous Waste Inspection
Hi Elianna
Here is my Return to Compliance Certification for our store cc403—Stockton.
I have attached the Return to Compliance Certification, and the corresponding cc403 Corrective Action Statement
document. I named the attachments according to the violation number, so it is easier to identify the attachments.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Darryl Dinson
Regional Manager, Loss Prevention
https://owa.sjgov.org/owa/#path=/mail/sentitems 1/4
